Press Release Body: Melbourne, Fla. - Michael Ammen, president of Ammen Family
Funeral Homes, recently received the Bridge for Life Award from the Southeast Tissue
Alliance (SETA) for his continued dedication to Brevard County.

Through a partnership program with SETA, Ammen helped enhance the lives of 10,000
Florida recipients from severe burn victims to cancer patients by offering families
the opportunity to learn about donation options. Listen to podcast:

Florida is a place where Ammen\'s roots run deep. \"I joined my father, George Ammen,
Jr., at Ammen Family Funeral in 1973,\" said Ammen. \"The local community has given
me so much to be grateful for, especially during some of our most challenging
times.\"

The family-owned company encountered and overcame its share of obstacles since its
inception. In 2004, Hurricane Jeanne destroyed the Ammen Family Funeral\'s central
location in Melbourne. Michael Ammen recognized the situation as a unique
opportunity to start with a fresh slate. \"We adapted and evolved as a company after
the hurricane; it was a tremendous team-building experience,\" said Ammen.

Guiding principles allowed the family-owned business to differentiate itself within
the community. A sign, \"Survived the Hurricane,\" resides above Ammen\'s desk and
serves as a constant reminder that his business practices must not only fulfill the
needs for families that call on his services, but also the needs of his own family.
\"I think if those two things first,\" said Ammen. \"If things are good for both, our
business will thrive.\"

As a businessman and a father, Ammen understands the importance of meeting the
changing needs of grieving families, which is a challenge faced by the funeral
industry. \"Families don\'t always find the same value that they once found with
traditional funerals, the industry needs to listen to what families want,\" said
Ammen.
